This Tiny Town

This Tiny Town

This tiny town
is a thousand
tiny towns. It is
culture dominated
neighbourhoods,
and neighbours
sharing thousands
of cultures. It’s
poverty, and
petty crime
and dangerous.
It’s mass produced
children trying
to be big,
bigger than
this tiny town.

I’ve been quite this week as it’s been my 30th birthday just yesterday, but I’m still here, and I’m still writing. Im off now for day two of birthday celebrations in the sun and finally after months of torture I am going to a physical book shop. Wishing you all a day full of light.
I think even the weather hasn’t got a clue about what is going on right now. A mood.
Doors, aren’t they funny little things? What comes through them? Where do they lead? What is the most memorable door in your life? What does it mean to you?
This church will teach you deception, there are no pews, no naves, no stained glass windows into a better place. Inside, you will find dozens of tiny luxurious homes, and dodgy drugs deals in the corridors. Not all houses of god are pure.
Writing prompt: pick a set of stairs that you have encountered physically, maybe fictionally, and thinking about where those stairs have or can lead, write what comes to mind. I picked a mesmerising set of spiral stairs I saw a picture of.
I have a difficult relationship with churches, this one is like a poem I have been trying to write for centuries but which does not accept my confession. It says my biggest sin is putting the pen down.
