If anxiety was a person…

Another result of a writing prompt in poetry class, pick a feeling or emotion that you’re familiar with, now imagine that in the human form. What kind of person would they be, what kind of things would they do or say?
I decided to pick my good auld friend, anxiety, and try to personify it.

If anxiety was a person

She kicks me out of bed every morning
and then kicks me back down when I try to stand up.

She stands behind me in the mirror
and with her long grim reaper like fingers,
points out every flaw that I own.

She scoffs loudly when I actually bother to eat breakfast
and tells me that it’s too late to start being healthy.

She sits cross legged and bright eyed
on my shoulder during class and hurls insults
into my ear as I read my own work out loud.
